General Information
Located at 100 Saunder Springs Lane is a heavily wooded natural area located on steep terrain with interesting historic features. The preserve provides opportunities for nature study, hiking picnicking, and historic interpretation. A handicapped accessible trail winds through mature hardwood forest past cascading waterfall as it leads from a parking area at the old water plant to the lake. Other hiking trails wind through the dense forest around the lake and from a parking area at the top of the hill to an overlook and on to the lake. A handicapped accessible picnic area is located at the top of the hill and many trees are marked for identification along the trails.  There are three pavilions available for rental. 
  • No Refunds will be issued for Pavilion Rentals.
Renter’s Responsibilities:
  • Clean-up area after event and dispose of trash in receptacles.
  • Renter will be billed for any damage to City property.
  • No water balloons, confetti, chalk or paint.
  • Renter is liable for accidents or injuries sustained by Renter, patrons or any persons associated with your function. 
  • Minors must be supervised at all times.
  • The restrooms are initially stocked.  Renters may want to bring additional toilet paper/paper towels.
  • Policy infractions could result in dismissal from the facility/premises and/or denial of future use.
  • The City assumes no liability for injuries, accidents, or loss of/damage to personal property.
  • The City reserves the right to require police security and/or certificate of insurance. 
  • The City reserves the right to cancel or change your reservation due to unforeseen circumstances.

Fee Schedule
Park hours are - dawn to dusk. Pavilion rental is $31.80 for private rentals only. 
  • Any public events will be charged at a different amount and you must contact
Colvin Community Center for more information on such events.
